Teaching development

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is a participant in the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL) network funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF).  The goal of CIRTL institutions is to improve teaching and learning at colleges and universities in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields to increase diversity and literacy in STEM fields across the nation. As a part of this program, I have taken and participated in graduate level courses at UAB to fulfill the requirements for CIRTL Teaching Certificates.

In addition the CIRTL courses, I am continuing to develop and reflect on new teaching and learning techniques that I implement in the classroom. I also continue to participate in teaching and learning opportunities outside of the formal classroom with activities related to teaching.
